Welcome back to school! We hope you enjoyed the last long weekend of the summer, and that you are as excited as we are to get back into the swing of the school year! There's just something about that first day of school outfit, the new pencils and crayons, and that fresh crisp feeling of fall in the air! Think of all the new things there are to learn and do this year!
This weekend we welcomed back our upper-division students and their parents with a backyard barbecue at our home. We immediately started working on the music for their upcoming auditions, rehearsing their 16-bar cuts between flipping burgers on the grill! 16 bars is all the time you need to showcase your talent... or cook the perfect burger! The 16-Bar Burger! The weather was perfect as we enjoyed freshly made tortilla chips and salsa, homemade potato salad and baked beans, brownies, and watermelon. It was wonderful to begin together as a group, as we watched returning students renew the friendships begun last year, and the new students forge new relationships.
Singwell classes across Traverse City start the week of September 10! If you are a returning student, please let me know you'll be attending, even if you think I already know, so that I can put your name in the roster for this session. We still have a few spots available for new students as well, but with only 10 students in each class, they fill fast!
Can't wait to see and hear all of you!
